Meet Our Dentists

Dr Kelly Kawahara , born and raised on Maui, graduated from Baldwin High School in 1996 and went on to receive a bachelor degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. She then attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston and graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2005. She and Dr. Girard were married in 2006 and have been working for a group practice until opening their own private practice in 2015.

Dentistry is an actively evolving science and Dr Kawahara has taken over 250 hours of continuing education courses so that she may offer the latest in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, removable and fixed prosthodontics, and implant restoration. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Hawaii Dental Association, Maui County Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, International Association of Dentists, and The National Association of Professional Women. In 2014, she was voted one of Hawaii’s Best Dentist by her peers.

Growing up on Maui, Dr. Kawahara knew no matter how far her studies took her she would always return home to raise her own family, surrounded by the rich, deeply rooted culture and beauty of her island home. She looks forward to serving the people of Maui and strives to create a comfortable and relaxed environment to administer superb dental care. Dr. Girard and Dr. Kawahara have two children, Aiden and Mckenzie who remind them that life is good and give them reasons to SMILE everyday.

Dr Todd Girard, a Massachusetts native and avid New England Sports fan, graduated from Danvers High School in 1997 and went on to receive a Bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry and Chemistry from Fairfield University in 2001. In 2005 he received his Doctorate in Dental medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. He moved to Maui with Dr. Kawahara in 2005 and has been working in a group practice until opening their private practice in 2015.

Dr Girard strives to bring the newest advancements in dentistry to the people of Maui. He has taken over 250 hours of continuing education courses, so that he may offer services in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics, removable and fixed prosthodontics, and implant restoration. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Hawaii Dental Association, Maui County Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, and International Association of Dentists. He was selected as one of Hawaii’s 2015 Best Dentists by his peers.
